DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 4 (Four) Cuckoo: (1) Scarce A. Frankfeld and Co., New York, shelf cuckoo, 8 day, time and strike with cuckoo bird, modified spring driven Waterbury movement in a fretwork case, c1870; (2) Gordian Hettich & Sohn, Furtwangen, Germany, shelf cuckoo, 8 day, time and strike with cuckoo in carved wood case, c1890; (3) Philipp Haas & Söhne, St. Georgen, Germany, cuckoo clock, 30 hour, time and strike with cuckoo, c1906; (4) American Cuckoo Clock Co, Philadelphia, cuckoo clock, 30 hour, time and strike with cuckoo in a carved wood case, c1910.
CONDITION: (1) The brass Waterbury movement is stamped "A. Frankfeld and Co." and "Pat. April 24, 1866 ". Frankfield's patent converted the striking train to operate the bellows and bird and do not strike. No pendulum bob. Some broken and repaired fretwork. New bellows have been installed. (2) Movement loose in case. Bellows tops have come off. Cuckoo bird is a crude replacment. Old Bone hands are included. (3) Bellows are torn. Nice rear label. No crest, no pendulum. Decent cuckoo bird. (4) Good rear label. Note: all four clocks will need mechanical and cosmetic attention. Dimensions are for the Frankfeld (1). Sold "as is ".
